Our Operational Planning room at the unit offers excellent accommodation for the knowledge delivery of CP theory and a basic but realistic living working environment for the CP Operative.
L2 Maybo Physical Intervention Certificate
Who needs this qualification?
It has been identified that door supervisors need to receive training in physical intervention skills to help reduce risk to them and others.
The Maybo PI programme is the most widely used in the security industry and the benchmark. Maybo has worked with PSA, skills for security and the BIIAB over a number of years in developing a simple, credible and safer approach to Physical Intervention. The Maybo programme explores the medical implications related to each move for all involved, and is a safer none pain compliant way of dealing with incidents. Maybo also comes with backing from ACPO.

Summary:
Delivery of underpinning knowledge and the principals of the course, the bulk of the course will be practical sessions with observations and internally/externally assessed. All candidates will be expected to attend in comfortable loose clothing and flat secure footwear, under no circumstances will you be allowed to take part in sandals or flip flops. Jewellery should not be worn during the training.
The Maybo techniques are not dependant on strength or high levels of physical fitness but it is important that you understand there is an element of risk associated with participation in this physical activity. A full safety brief will be given before the commencement of any physical activity.
