The SIA, (Security Industry Authority) in order to work within one of the licensed sectors within the Private Security Industry you must hold a recognised qualification which then enables you to apply for an SIA licence. Once licenced you are then able to work in that particular area of security. Here at PSA we offer a range of security training courses to Level 2 and 3 which meet the necessary criteria to enable you to apply for your SIA licence.

BTEC Level 2 in Close Circuit Television (CCTV)

Who needs this qualification?

All those seeking thier Security Industry Authority CCTV (PSS) License

Duration : 4 Day course

Summary:

This Btec Level 2 training course is designed to help candidates gain qualification relevant for seeking an SIA license and employment in the CCTV (puplic space surveillance) role within the private security industry. PSA provides certification through Edexcel at BTEC Level 2 which is approved by the UK SIA as meeting their training requirements for this role

Full Details:

To train attendees in key skills and understanding of the Private Security Industry, prepare attendees for working as a CCTV Operator within a licensed role.

Units:

Unit 1 – Working in the Private Security Industry

    • Know the purpose and main features of the private security industry
    • Understand the legislation that is relevant to people working within the private security industry
    • Know how to maintain Health and Safety in the workplace

          The training course is designed to professionally prepare male and female attendees for employment in the CP Officer role.

          Our aim is to train attendees in the key skills and tactics required to become a skilled Close Protection Operator in a multitude of potential working environments.           L2 Maybo Physical Intervention Certificate

          Who needs this qualification?

          It has been identified that door supervisors need to receive training in physical intervention skills to help reduce risk to them and others.

          The Maybo PI programme is the most widely used in the security industry and the benchmark. Maybo has worked with PSA, skills for security and the BIIAB over a number of years in developing a simple, credible and safer approach to Physical Intervention. The Maybo programme explores the medical implications related to each move for all involved, and is a safer none pain compliant way of dealing with incidents. Maybo also comes with backing from ACPO.

          Duration : 1 Day

          Summary:

          Delivery of underpinning knowledge and the principals of the course, the bulk of the course will be practical sessions with observations and internally/externally assessed. All candidates will be expected to attend in comfortable loose clothing and flat secure footwear, under no circumstances will you be allowed to take part in sandals or flip flops. Jewellery should not be worn during the training.

          The Maybo techniques are not dependant on strength or high levels of physical fitness but it is important that you understand there is an element of risk associated with participation in this physical activity. A full safety brief will be given before the commencement of any physical activity.
